As previously stated, using Out of Character knowledge is illegal, especially in battle.
A basic rule of RP to remember is: Think Realistically
What this means is to picture yourself in your character's situation. Just because you may know something about a Jutsu or about an opponent, doesn't mean that your character does. If your character doesn't know the Jutsu or hasn't seen it used means that they have no idea what it does. If your character wasn't present for a conversation or event in the RP board, they have no knowledge of that event.
It also means to think realistically when making a Defensive Action. If you are struggling to come up with a way to avoid a move, and you feel that your character wouldn't be able to think of it in the very short time they would have had, then take the hit.
Same applies with Offensive Action. Think, "is my character physically able to pull that off?" If not, then re-think your move.
Some other basic rules, that still apply to the "Think Realistically" rule are as follows:
1. No God Moding - What this means is refusing to take a hit, even if your character should have been.
2. No Autoing - This is to say that you hit a person during your Offensive Action without giving them a chance to respond. If you want to do a combo, but only if you make the first hit, then state so in your post.
3. Use Common Sense - Ex. If your character takes a hit to the leg, they obviously won't be able to move as fast. If their arm is injured, they obviously won't be able to punch as hard, and it may hurt to try it.
4. No Script Writing - Those on the DBZ RPG know what this is, as it was very common. It is not acceptable during battle, and you will be asked to redo your move. While I won't delete an RP post like that, it is generally frowned upon. What Script Writing looks like is this:

If you follow those simple rules, you should find RP fairly easy. The rest is just practice. Remember, Think Realistically.
