There is nothing wrong in failing the Genin Exam, you will always be ready for the next one....
Those words danced into her mind, as she wondered about what that old man had spoken about... what was the point on going on, if she was to fail the first time arround. Not that she wanted to be seen as a pure genius for going through exams without a problem, she couldn't care less about her reputation, as long as it kept to a straight road, a road that would make her clan proud.
"If I am to lose.. I'd prefer to just die and rot.."
The words she spoke to herself danced in her mind as she thought about it for a moment while pondering on just who she'd have to face in order to give proof of her worth as a Genin, as this would be the moment where she'd have to prove that every book, every day spent training and learning how to mold her chakra... every hopes on the new generation of Ishikawa, had not gone to waste.
Ayame was heading toward the supposed location for the exam, as she pondered tricks and tactics in her mind, she hadn't much on herself, but the tools that she had been given by her familly in order to go to the Academy, she didn't think that she needed much of anything else. Of course some could say she wasn't prepared enought, but she was focused and she would try to proove that she can do with the tools she had.
(I guess its pretty simple that I intend on taking my Genin exam =P)

A Bald man, about 20 years of age stood within the grassy field, awaiting the Student that he was to decide if they should pass or fail. When he saw her approach, he would cross his arms over his chest. Both his arms had tattoes over them, seemingly an entwining streak of lightning and fire, looping about him to his shoulders, then going around his back, a ball of fire and lighting enfused on it. He would speak, bowing his head slightly to her. "Welcome, Ayame.. I am Nethule Leburne.. The rules of your exam are simple.. I decide if you pass or fail. You will try against me as if it were life and death. Got it?"
He would grin at her, his head tilted to the side. Nethule's eyes almost seemed glassy as he did this, her own reflection seen in them. A dense forest was by them, merging with the grassy area they were currently in.

You will try against me as if it were life and death...
Somehow... those words didn't ring in her mind as good as she would have thought it the first time arround, did it imply that there would be alot of collateral damage... wich probably ment on her.. Tho it troubled her... Ayame would seem as cold as she ever was when it came to face a fight... this would be just like any other... where she was to prove her worth.. or be thrown back in a bottomless pit..
The girl was dressed in dark clothes, not quite something that could hide you on a grassy field, but perhaps it did better in the shadows. A sleeveless loose top, with matching pants, while she had baggy sleeves like pieces of clothes over her arms, that were held in place with tappings, and she had a pair of heavy boots, not out of fashion but they were useful when hitting someone in the soft areas...
Since she wasn't so skilled in Taijutsu... she knew that it would be difficult to tackle the Jounin with her lacking skill, so she had to use misdirection in order to win this.. She did take half a fighting stance, tho kept on the defensive for now, as it would simply look like a poor attempt at staying safe, tho it was simply an attempt to fool the one that tested her
"Sensei... Are you sure you want me to... a fatal mistake and the Clouds could be missing one rather good ninja..."
she'd say calmly, as she slowly worked on devising a plan to at least try and deal him a blow, while it would be good to try and get an answer from him, considering she needed to know a little more about her opponent, information gathering was always the best of tricks to be ready against any opponent

Nethule would just grin at her still, his glassy eyes resting on her form. He would speak quietly, taking no real stance at all. "I am sure.. Give me your best shots.." With that he would simply dive into the grassy field, heading in her direction. Only the grass swaying around his ducked form would give away where he was. As he got where he remembered her to be, he would pick up his pace, to move about her in a circular motion, flattening the grass down beneath him with each rotation, starting to disguise where he truely was. Now, he would give the student a moment to decide how to handle his apparent stratagy..

It didn't seem like "she" would be the one going in first, as it seemed that the examiner had already jumped into action it seemed... Tho he had indeed given off the idea that he was sure of his skills.. and perhaps that could be used against him, even tho she knew of the overwhelming skills of someone of Jounin rank, she had to do something!
Her eyes would narrow as she observed his movements about the battlefield... as he ducked into the grass to hide himself, she would try and follow his movements with her eyes, as she moved a foot backward iin order to stabilise her position and ready herself in case she needed to move quickly.. The movement and sound of the grass, would be what she needed to use in order to find his position, but since he was always moving, it was difficult to just pinpoint a place to attack, since he could change his direction at will, in an attempt to miss direct her... as the circles began arround her, that was when she started to ponder a plan, since he seemed to create a circle arround her, she would calculate his movements, trying to figure out his speed. Once this was done and she had a hazy guess of his movements, her hand would reach for her holster from wich she gathered 3 shuriken, in order to throw them in the oposite direction from where the man supposedly was, in the circle that he was making, considering that in all this grass, he couldn't see so well... this would give her the time to turn the shuriken into improvised caltrops, and if he was to run on them, he would certainly get wounded... and once this was done, a kunai had found its way into her hand as a weapon that would find better use then her bare hands, considering she wasn't so strong, and she kept a close gaze upon the improvised caltrops and the movement that she believed her opponent to be moving as

As he moved through his flattened circle of grass, his rgight hands finger would just scrape across one of the shurikens she had set up as a trap. Silently he would note that, congratsulating her mentaly with what she came up to counter what he had done. This was, after all, a test of her own tactics for situations. Nethule would pick up the shuriken and would move his hands slightly in a gesture, letting a scream escape him for the briefest of moments, dropping the shuriken, which now took the shape of his own form, bloodied over his hand with a shuriken sticking through it. the Clone would jump up slightly for a second, so the top of his head would just be visable over the grass, before popping back down.
His real body would slip out a Kunai, and would just rotate it as he ducked into the grass, moving slowly, as to make it look like just a breeze moving, watching and listening through the grass blades.

The scream had indeed been a beacon for her attention, as her eyes turned in the direction of the scream before she would smirk slightly.. as the thought of a wound inflicted came to mind... to think of the flesh being bruised.. ripped open by a lone shuriken.. and.. wait.. she had wounded a "Jounin" ? It was then that she was somewhat doubtful that she had done anything good right now.. as she spotted the head of the Jounin coming out of the grass, her senses would become alert, as she wondered if he was going to attack for what she did, or if it was simply a trap..
The field was full of high grass, wich was quite troublesome, considering that the technique she wanted to use held that terrible flaw in this landscape... tho she would quickly figure out a plan, and as soon as she was sure the one she spotted couldn't see her anymore, her hands would come together to form handseals as she molded her chakra, forming the seals for the clone jutsu... it was true that the grass wouldn't move from the clone's movements, considering it was nothing but an illusion, but she had it planned, as Ayame ducked into the grasses, she would roll to the side as she launched two kunais in the direction she had spotted the examiner, while the clone would run in front of the thrown weapons, making it as if the grass moved with it, and as the clone would seem to want to attack with the kunai it held in its hands, the two kunais that were hidden within the grass would do a quick blow to the man if he didn't react properly.
And already Ayame was pondering on the question of it it was simply a trap, of course she didn't think she would hit anything, but she knew it would probably give her the answer on if the man was real or not, and perhaps get her to pinpoint the location of the real one

The Kunai's Ayame had thrown would indeed hit Nethule's clone, the body vanishing and the sound of metal scraping metal being heard as one of the Kunai scraped against the Shuriken that was there. Knowing the direction that the Kunai came from, he would throw his own, aimed to just skim across the ground at ankle level in that direction. Nethule would hop into the air and clap, grinning at her. "Nice tactics you have there.. What else do you have hidden up your sleeves? So to speak, of course.." He would laugh, grinning at her, his glassy eyes resting on her body, his arms moving to cross over his chest. This would indeed be a true test..

Of course.. since she had previously moved from her position after throwing the kunais in the angle of her clone's movements, the Jounin's own weapon wouldn't be quite close to hitting her, tho it indeed gave her the opportunity to judge just where he had gone to, wich went to waste as he had jumped out from the grass and showed himself... it porved that he was toying with her!
Ayame's lips quivered into a small smirk as she felt the sadness rushing through her as she started to think that she hadn't even brought a drip of blood from him, but at least he had to use some chakra... wich was worth something.. yet this exam was harder then she had believed it to be. Still... she couldn't just let go right now, until he would say that the exam was over, she just had to fight on.. and perhaps it was time to change her tactics..
From her point of view, she could see the Jounin through the grass, considering he was much taller then she was.. and she would take hold of five more shuriken, and from her hidding spot, she would launch them toward the man, aime for the thrown weapons to describe a curve away from her before they would aim straight for the man, in order to try and block his right and left side, to force him to either move back or forward as she launched herself out of the grass and charged at him quickly, notint the place where the other weapons were left on the ground, so she could use them to her advantages as she ran toward Nethule, looking as if she was ready to fight him head on

He would just grin. But saw something in the corner of his eye.. Simply Nethule would do a simply spin and sidestep, his main focus having been the woman running towards him. When he did this though, the Shurikens Ayame had thrown would slash around him, drawing thin lines of blood around his body. This, of course, was not planned. Perhaps he did indeed play too much and under estimate the students abilities.. Or maybe it was just this one.. With that, after shaking off the brief moment of surprise. he would move to wrap his arm around the waist of Ayame to stop her in her tracks, and would say. "You did very well.. Best I have seen in a long.. long time. You certainly more than pass this examination!" He would move to give her the belt with the symbol on it she so deserved.
(Yes.. this is cut a bit short. But I got my reasons. And they should be understood.. And I trust no one disagrees with my decision? No one does? Good.)

The man had said to come at him as if it was a life or death matter, and that was what she had done, gathering information on him, as well as performing tricks of misdirection in order to last as long as she could.. and as she had been running toward him her hand had gathered one of the kunai that had been thrown to the ground, but as she heard him speak about her passing the exam, she came to an abrupt stop, lowering herself, and placing a hand on the ground in order not to lose her balance and fall forward before she looked up to him and blinked..
Was this another trick? Or she had really passed this exam? The girl would pocket her kunai and slowly reached for the forehead protector, taking it and giving a small look at it before she smilled... she had passed.. and without a scratch on herself.. tho there was no room for bragging, she was quite pleased with herself... tho she would have wished to push the test further..
Quickly, Ayame bowed to the examiner, thanking him politely for the time he had given to testing her, and that she would wear the forehead protector with pride and would do her best to come to help the village as best as she could..
this was certainly a good day... and Kazuki would certainly turn red of jealousy knowing she had won it so easilly. Still... she was almost sure some nasty punch would slam into her for the shuriken's and she was somewhat hopeful it wouldn't happen.
"Thank you again, sensei"
Ayame would say as she straightenned up and looked down toward the forehead protector, holding it tightly in her hand as she pondered how her life would be now, as a kunoichi.. as she moved to gather back the equipement that she had thrown about in the high grass field, thinking it was her first personnal mission
